A big thank you to Geoff and all the team at Mt Ommaney Library for hosting my solo show The language of clothes from April to June 2022. It was a wonderful opportunity to take my visual art practice to new audiences. My artist statement is below:
The Language of Clothes investigates the sign language, or semiotics, of clothing in contemporary Australian society. Rather than considering the fashion value of clothing, visual artist, composer and writer Genevieve Memory is interested in how everyday clothing communicates something about the wearer to others. What do your clothes say about you?
